Supplier Identification, Readiness Assessment, and Preparation
The key to maximizing participation with a diverse group of suppliers, vendors,
and subcontractors is the identification and engagement of capable, competent,
and legitimate M/W/D/LS businesses. Currently, there are hundreds of Memphis
businesses that are certified locally and/or nationally as M/W/D/LS businesses,
and several others that qualify for certification. A large number of certified
businesses are in construction-related industries and create a rich candidate pool.
The Salton Company team members maintain contact with many of the local
certification and diversity programs (both private and public) and will utilize this
access to existing certification databases for candidates.
The Memphis area is fortunate to have several public, private, and government,
trade organizations that promote economic development of M/W/D/LS
businesses. Targeted networking and outreach has been executed with these
organizations to identify their members who meet criteria for participation
including, but no limited to the following:
